The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary offers a nature-based 4-year-old kindergarten program in partnership with the Green Bay Area Public Schools. This program will engage children with interactive outdoor learning that encourages children to explore the world around them while acquiring important skills that will prepare them for Kindergarten.
Students in the Oak Center Learning Center 4K will get “down and dirty” as they interact with wildlife, plants and other resources to create a developmentally appropriate and meaningful outdoor experience. In this program, children will be outdoors rain or shine and exploring all that nature has to teach us!
Nature provides a constantly changing environment that engages all the senses. In order to take full advantage of the nature based activities, many of the program lessons will be held outside in most weather conditions which means clothing, coats, boots, etc. will get muddy, wet and dirty. A list of required “nature gear” has been developed so parents can prepare their child for class. The Green Bay Area Public School District can assist with some of the gear if needed.
